Puppy-Proof Your Home
Before bringing
your new puppy home, you will need
to "puppy proof" your house.
Puppies are like just babies and
they will put everything in their
mouths!
Here are some easy to follow
tips to help you get your home
ready for the new arrival!
Put all shoes or other items you
typically leave laying around
up: Puppies do not know their
limits and do not understand
what is right and wrong when
they first arrive to their new
home. So, you will want to make
sure any items the puppy could
chew are out of reach!
Make sure all poisonous
household items are securely
stored: These items can be
deadly to your puppy. As your
new puppy grows, he will be able
to explore higher places and be
tempted to jump up on shelves,
so make sure even those are out
of his reach.
Dangling Cords: Make sure you
do not have nay dangling electric
cords any where the puppy can view
or reach. These things become toys
for a new puppy, and you do not
want to take the chance of him
being electrocuted.
